A Reuters report on Monday indicated that Iran and the United States had received a plan to end hostilities that could take effect immediately and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, citing a source familiar with the proposals.
The framework, developed by Pakistan and exchanged overnight with both parties, outlined a two-tier process involving an immediate ceasefire followed by negotiations toward a generally broader agreement.
The report indicated that all elements of the proposal had to be agreed upon before Monday.
