🚨🗽😲 Truflation US Inflation (YoY): 2.24 % 🩸📢

We’re now on Day 13 of the U.S. government shutdown. The longer it lasts, the deeper the data blackout becomes.

Labor & Fiscal Impact:

The first formal layoffs have begun (the IRS alone has sidelined over 34 000 workers), while the Senate remains at a standstill, and back-pay uncertainty adds to the strain. All these disruptions blur wage and employment data, distorting inflation expectations

Missed releases so far (the list keeps growing):

✦ Oct 2 – Weekly Jobless Claims (Dept. of Labor)

✦ Oct 3 – September Employment Report (BLS)

✦ Oct 7 – U.S. International Trade in Goods & Services (BEA & Census)

✦ Oct 9 – Weekly Jobless Claims (Dept. of Labor)

✦ Oct 9 – Monthly Wholesale Trade: Sales & Inventories (Census)

Next at risk / won’t be released if shutdown continues:

✦ Oct 15 – Consumer Price Index (BLS)

✦ Oct 16 – Producer Price Index (PPI) & Retail Sales (BLS)

✦ Oct 30 – GDP Advance Estimate (BEA)

✦ Oct 31 – Personal Consumption Expenditures (BEA)

Data collection halted:

BLS jobs, wage, and price surveys; Census economic indicators; and BEA trade, GDP, and income accounts. All critical inputs for inflation measurement ↔️
