Urgent ‼️ October 13 (Reuters) - In her first speech as President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Anna Paulson said on Monday that the increasing risks to the labor market require the U.S. central bank to make further cuts to interest rates, as it seems unlikely that trade tariffs will lead to inflation rising as much as expected.
Paulson said during a meeting of the National Association for Business Economics in Philadelphia: "Given my views on tariffs and inflation, monetary policy should focus on balancing the risks that threaten maximum employment and price stability, which means taking a more neutral stance".
