A court in Daqing has handed down prison sentences to two individuals involved in the theft of electricity for Bitcoin mining operations. According to NS3.AI, Zhang received a 10-year sentence, while Zhao was sentenced to four years and 10 months. The pair were found guilty of using stolen electricity to power 36 Bitcoin mining machines located in a rented pig pen. The court calculated the value of the stolen electricity at 438,580.52 yuan for Zhang and 363,750.78 yuan for Zhao.
