Vitalik Buterin believes that the original vision #layer 2 has lost its relevance.
The reason is simple: right now, transactions directly on the Ethereum network cost less than $0.01 due to low gas fees. If the mainnet has become this cheap, do we still need L2 protocols in the form we are used to?
