CME has launched event contracts for Bitcoin futures, which will be added to CME's existing suite of 10 event contracts related to benchmark futures markets. It is reported that the new event contracts for Bitcoin futures provide a wide range of investors with a limited-risk, highly transparent way to enter the Bitcoin market through a fully regulated exchange.

Tim McCourt, CME Group's global head of equity and foreign exchange products, said, "These cash-settled, daily-expiring contracts will further complement our existing 10 event contracts associated with the benchmark futures market, which have traded more than 550,000 contracts to date. In addition, these new contracts will provide innovative, lower-cost ways for investors to trade their views on rising or falling Bitcoin prices." (Planet Daily)
