Midnight is a fourth-generation blockchain focused on privacy, developed by Input Output Global (IOG) – the company behind Cardano.
Midnight addresses one of the difficult problems of blockchain: balancing privacy and regulatory compliance. This network uses zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) technology to protect personal and sensitive business data, allowing users to control the disclosure of information, deciding which data is displayed and which data is kept confidential.
NIGHT (Midnight) is the utility and governance token of the Midnight protocol, which can be used for the following purposes:
Holders of NIGHT can vote on critical network decisions.
Used to unlock and utilize certain features and services within the Midnight ecosystem.
Creates DUST (non-transferable resource) – used to pay for security transactions. DUST will diminish if not utilized.
