FROM 1/3: BANK ACCOUNTS MUST MATCH REAL NAMES, PROHIBITED TO USE ALIASES
🏦 From March 1, the new regulation in Circular 25/2025 of the State Bank officially takes effect, requiring bank accounts to use the legal name of the account holder, and no longer allowed to use aliases or nicknames as before.
⚠️ The most important changes:
• Prohibition of using aliases, nicknames, brand names that do not match the account holder
• The account name must completely match the legal documents
• Applies to both individuals and business households
👤 For personal accounts:
The account name must be the full name as per the legal identification documents used when opening the account.
🏪 For business households:
The account name must match the business household name on the registration certificate or corresponding legal documents. Business households are considered organizational customers under bank regulations.
🔍 The bank is responsible for:
• Collecting and verifying customer identification information
• Cross-checking legal data when opening accounts
• Updating information when customers change registration
🚨 The goal of the new regulation:
• Limit money transfer fraud, brand impersonation
• Prevent confusion for money recipients
• Increase transparency of cash flow in the economy
💰 This regulation is issued in parallel with the roadmap for tightening tax management for business households:
• The tax authority is expected to require the declaration of all accounts related to business activities
• Transition from fixed tax to declaration based on actual revenue
• Business households with revenue over 500 million VND/year must pay VAT and personal income tax according to the new regulations.
