The EU-UN Peace and Security Strategic Committee held its inaugural meeting in New York on March 3, reaffirming their strong support for the United Nations Charter and a rules-based international order grounded in international law. According to Jin10, UN Secretary-General's spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, stated during a routine press briefing that the meeting involved discussions on the evolving global peace and security landscape. Participants exchanged views on the future of UN peacekeeping operations and special political missions, as well as the future direction of EU missions and actions. Both the EU and the UN agreed to focus on cooperation in areas such as transformation, the women, peace, and security agenda, climate, peace and security, strategic planning, and conflict prevention and peacebuilding.
