The Aave Chan Initiative (ACI), a key service provider for the Aave DAO, confirmed it will exit the DAO by July amid ongoing governance tensions.
Founder Marc Zeller said in a statement to The Block that ACI will not seek to renew its engagement. The organization plans to continue governance activities, complete outstanding Skyward commitments, and oversee a structured handoff of its infrastructure over the next four months.
ACI’s departure comes shortly after BGD Labs announced on February 20 that it would cease contributing to Aave when its contract ends in April, citing disagreements over governance and strategic direction. The back-to-back exits underscore growing friction within the Aave DAO community and raise concerns about the stability and cohesion of one of decentralized finance’s leading ecosystems.
