This market is just like an old guy’s butt—doesn’t know whether to pee or to poop. 😂 An entire week stuck in this back-and-forth, up and down, up and down, and in the end it doesn’t go anywhere.
In the crypto market, when you think you’ve hit rock bottom, you find out there’s still a trapdoor. And most impressively, my loss was even greater than the one recorded in this 1-year PNL of assets.
Cryptocurrency is, without a doubt, one of the worst investments out there for anyone seeking security and predictability. It produces nothing, does not generate real wealth, does not pay dividends, and its value basically depends on someone agreeing to pay more tomorrow than you paid today. While companies build products, create jobs, and generate profit, much of the crypto market lives on promises, speculation, and narratives. One post is enough, a rumor is enough, or a whale moving the market for billions to evaporate in just a few hours. But as always, everyone does what they want with their money—some invest in assets, others bet on the hope of finding someone willing to pay more later.
This market is moving toward destroying its own credibility. With every new drop, more investors have their wealth wiped out, lose hope, and leave the market. In my view, this process is still far from over. When trust runs out, there is no narrative to uphold it. In the future, I believe fewer and fewer people will believe in it. For many, everything will be remembered as a major financial fraud that enriched a minority while millions were left with losses.
I asked Grok on X (Twitter) to understand what the prevailing sentiment in the cryptocurrency market is at the moment on that network. The answer was interesting: despite fear and caution in the short term, there is no widespread pessimism. The perception is that the market is consolidating, with investors waiting for confirmations before a possible rebound.
According to the analysis, the Fear & Greed Index remains in the fear zone, altcoins still show weakness, and Bitcoin dominance continues to be high. On the other hand, many institutional investors remain optimistic for the medium and long term, viewing the current situation as a preparation phase, not necessarily the end of the cycle.
In short, today’s prevailing sentiment is cautious optimism—without euphoria, but also without a mass capitulation. Now we just need to watch the coming months to see whether this expectation holds true.
My friends, for me this market is over. These cryptocurrencies, for the most part, no longer serve any purpose. Those who still cling to the hope that everything will go back to how it used to be are deluded. Today, honestly, I only hope to be able to recover what I invested. After that, I want to move on.
This market always follows the same script: it climbs a bit, creates hope, attracts new investors, and makes a lot of people believe that this time it’s for real. When everyone is confident, a correction hits, and often the drop is twice as intense as the previous rise.
It’s a cycle that has repeated for years and will likely continue to do so. Greed and fear drive the markets, and as long as human nature doesn’t change, this behavior won’t change either.
The question remains: who really wins more in the long run? The one who tries to capitalize on every move by trading, or the one who picks solid assets and simply holds, weathering the fluctuations along the way?
The answer seems simple, but the results show that few can consistently beat the market by operating in the short term. Meanwhile, patience, often underestimated, tends to be one of the most profitable strategies of all. 📈💭
Today I took a loss of $200 on GALA and ENA. I no longer see any recovery potential in those positions and decided to reallocate the capital into $BTC and $SOL . My goal now is to focus on assets that I consider more solid to try to recover part of the roughly $30k that I'm in the red since December 2025.
It can come back, but no one knows how long that'll take. It could happen in 6 months, 1 year, 4 years, or even longer. The market doesn’t offer guarantees, just possibilities.
After more than five years in this market, looking at myself and friends who invested in different coins, different strategies, and different narratives, I've come to a simple conclusion: no one got rich.
That's why today I view the narratives that repeat in every cycle—halving, altseason, interest rate cuts, institutional adoption, and the promise of the next coin that will 100x—with a lot of skepticism. In practice, the ones making the most money are the project founders, their friends, early investors, and the exchanges that profit from trading volume.
The story that anyone bought a random coin and made 100x has become one of the biggest marketing tools in the market. While most chase this dream, few realize that the game was designed to benefit those who created the coin, not those who came later.
Diamond hands or just stubbornness? 💎😂 Is there anyone here still holding their positions since 2023 without cashing out? Do you still believe in the ROI?
I asked ChatGPT how long it might take for the crypto highs of 2025 to return, and the answer was pretty much what market experience has shown:
📈 BTC is usually the first to bounce back in cycles. 📈 ETH typically follows, sometimes with a bit of a lag. 📉 Altcoins, especially memecoins, tend to take the hardest hit; many never return to their previous highs.
A practical way to view it. 👇🏻
Optimistic scenario: some major coins could revisit their highs in 3 to 9 months.
Base scenario: somewhere between 6 and 18 months, with a lot of volatility along the way.
Bearish scenario: high interest rates, weak liquidity, heavy regulation, or loss of narrative could push recovery out to 2 years or more, leaving many projects behind.
What else influences this timeline?
• Institutional flow into crypto; • Interest rates in the US and global liquidity; • Strength of BTC; • Capital rotation into altcoins; • Current narratives (AI, memes, RWA, etc.); • Unlocks, listings, and selling pressure from projects.
But the most crucial part of the answer was this:
"The market returning to highs doesn't mean your portfolio will bounce back with it."
The influencers change, but the conversation remains the same: interest rates will drop, the SEC will approve, halving will send the market to the moon, mass adoption is just around the corner… Newbies come in thinking they've discovered the opportunity of a lifetime. I’ve been there too, got hyped at the start, listened to influencers, and lost cash. This whole "put your money in and 100x to get rich" thing drives a lot of engagement, but it’s a myth. But no worries, in this next cycle they’ll spin a new narrative to tell the same old story. 🚀🤡📉
Last year, at the peak of the market rally, my portfolio hit 57k. Since I was in holding mode with locked positions, I didn’t take any profits. Then came the big drop in December, and with it, pretty much all the gains vanished, leaving only my invested capital.
Today, looking at my portfolio, the reality is quite different. I promised myself that I wouldn't sell until I at least recouped my capital, and I’m sticking to that decision. In fact, I took advantage of this dip to make another buy and lower my average cost through DCA.
The crypto market isn't easy. Often it’s frustrating, feels manipulated, and tests the patience of any trader. But despite the mistakes, the drops, and the challenges, I keep learning, tweaking my strategy, and trying. After all, giving up now won’t get back the time or money invested. 🚀📈
Since the major market crash in December, pretty much all cryptocurrencies have taken a serious hit, and many are still far from recovering their previous values.
But there’s one exception that stands out: BNB.
While a large part of the market has tanked, the $BNB has shown much greater resistance. Coincidence? Strength of the ecosystem? Market intervention? Or just a reflection of Binance's massive influence?
I’m not claiming anything, just pointing out an observation that seems curious to me.
What do you all think? Is it normal for a coin to hold up so well while almost the entire rest of the market is suffering? 🤔📉💰
For me, this crypto market is done. It's been 6 months since the big dip, and the coins aren't bouncing back. Now I'm just looking to recover my investment and get out for good.
