Starting from 50U vs starting from 500U, which one is the real 'hell mode' of trading?
99% of people’s first reaction: Of course, 50U is hard! The capital is absurdly small, and the fee can swallow up 10% in one bite. A fluctuation of 10U is close to liquidation, and stop-loss can't be placed, you can only hope the market is as gentle as a nanny...
But after seeing too many real cases, I want to say the opposite:
Only those who have really played know — 50U is actually 'simple and brutally difficult', while 500U is 'gently slicing you slowly' purgatory.
Why?
With 50U, you have almost no choice:
- Fees/spreads are like vampires, taking 5–15% from a single trade
- You can only play 0.01 lots/micro contracts, full margin is the norm
- A fluctuation of 5–8 points = mental breakdown, 10 points is basically GG
- Want to turn it around? You must have nearly perfect operations continuously (doubling 10 times to reach 5K)
What’s the result? Most people don’t die from skills, but from 'physical rules don’t allow you to live'.
But with 500U, suddenly everything 'looks possible':
- The fee ratio drops below 1%, finally able to breathe
- You can open 0.1 lots, medium position, with stop-loss space
- Losing 50U is only 10%, mindset can still be stable
- +30% can reach 650U, compounding looks good to chase
And then?
Most people begin to self-destruct at this stage —
Leveraging, frequent entries and exits, moving stop-loss upon seeing floating profits, fantasizing about tenfold overnight...
What’s the result? A few 'reasonable' pullbacks return the hard-earned 500U to the market, dying faster and more painfully than with 50U.
In summary:
- The difficulty of 50U is survival difficulty: like looking for water in a desert, the rules don’t allow you to live.
- The difficulty of 500U is holding on: like winning the lottery but can't help but spend recklessly, ending up with nothing.
So the harsh truth ranking is:
Thousands of U → Easiest to survive (large space, stable mindset)
500U → Medium hell (hope exists, but 99% die from greed)
50U → Super hell (very few people climb out with extreme discipline)
Which hurdle are you stuck on now?
Is it stubbornly holding onto faith with 50U? Or repeatedly blowing up with 500U?
Post a number + result in the comments, I want to see how many are like me 😂
