Recently, I've been seeing #FOGO in the square, and $fogo is said to be an “institutional-grade public blockchain” and a “Solana killer.” As a newcomer to the space, I spent an entire night researching it, so let me highlight the key points and see what it actually is.

1️⃣ In a nutshell: What is FOGO?

You can think of it as a “Solana customized for Wall Street elites.”

It uses the same underlying system (SVM) as Solana, so apps on Solana can be directly migrated over.

But it’s faster, more stable, and designed to meet the needs of banks and large institutions that require processing millions of transactions per second.

2️⃣ For us newbies, the two most special points:

Canceled the pre-sale and conducted a large airdrop: The project team originally planned to sell $20 million worth of tokens, but suddenly decided not to sell in December last year and gave them away for free! They airdropped the tokens to early testers. This move is quite favorable, as it feels like they want to genuinely build a community rather than rushing to make money.

Almost 40% of the tokens were unlocked upon launch: this means that a lot of tokens are circulating from the start, and price fluctuations may be significant. For those looking to buy, it’s necessary to observe more.

3️⃣ My little summary (not investment advice!):

The technology is impressive: backed by top-tier institutions like Jump Crypto, the goal is to solve Solana's congestion issues.

The ambition is great: wanting to bridge traditional finance and the crypto world.

There are also risks: the new chain is just starting, not many people are using it yet, and whether it can become popular is key. Moreover, with a large number of tokens circulating initially, the price may be unstable.
