What is Unique About FOGO Compared to FOMO? If FOMO is the fear of "missing the train", then **FOGO is the fear of "feeling like the train will never stop".** This is not just greed, but a unique psychological trap:
1. **The "God Mode" Delusion:** When your portfolio is up 300%, your brain releases excess dopamine. You start to feel like you have the "Midas touch". You are afraid to exit because you feel that if you sell now, you will lose the moment of "magic" that you are creating yourself.
2. **The Community Trap:**
FOGO is often exacerbated by Telegram or Discord groups. When you want to *Take Profit*, the community shouts *"Diamond Hands!"* or *"WAGMI!"*. You are afraid to exit (FOGO) because you don’t want to be seen as "weak" or betray the community narrative.
3. **Sunk Cost Fallacy Backwards:**
You have been waiting for this coin for a year during the *bear market*. Once it rises, you feel "sorry" to take just a small profit. You feel the coin "owes" you more.
The Bitter Reality Behind FOGO
The market does not care how confident you are. The market operates based on liquidity. When you are affected by FOGO and refuse to sell, you are actually becoming **liquidity exit** for the *Whales* who are much more disciplined.
How to Destroy FOGO Before FOGO Destroys Your Balance:
* **Sell Based on Percentage, Not Round Numbers:** Don’t wait for the price to be $1.00. Sell at $0.97. Many sell orders get stuck at round numbers, and FOGO will make you wait at the back of the queue.
* **Celebrate "Small Profits":** Learn to feel proud when you successfully take profit of 20%, even if it goes up another 50% the next day. Regretting for not making enough profit is much better than regretting because your balance turns to dust.
