On February 11, payment giant Stripe has recently been active in the fields of cryptocurrency and AI. According to BlockBeats, Stripe officially launched support for the x402 protocol, allowing developers to charge AI agents and settle using USDC on the Base chain.
Stripe integrates with the PaymentIntents API x402, allowing developers to implement machine payments, suitable for API calls, tool usage, and other scenarios. Transactions are unified in the Stripe dashboard, supporting near-zero fees and instant settlement.
Stripe continues to invest in stablecoin infrastructure, incubating the Tempo Layer 1 blockchain, aiming to replace traditional systems like SWIFT. The Tempo testnet is now live, with the mainnet expected to launch within 2026.
Tempo completed $500 million Series A financing, with a valuation of $5 billion. Stripe's valuation recently tender offer exceeded $140 billion, and the crypto/stablecoin strategy has gained market recognition.
