Cryptocurrencies experienced volatile performance during yesterday's trading, amid growing market expectations for the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates in its meeting on September 16 and 17, and the recent tensions with U.S. President Donald Trump over the dismissal of member Lisa Cook.
Bitcoin rose by 0.2% to $111,217 during the trading sessions, capturing about 57.3% of the total cryptocurrency market value.
While Ethereum, the second largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, increased by 0.65% to $4,602.24, Ripple fell by 0.75% to around $3.013.
The global market capitalization of cryptocurrencies is $3.87 trillion, while the total trading volume over the past 24 hours reached $178.72 billion, according to data from CoinMarketCap.
According to data from Bitcoin Office in El Salvador, the country acquired 31 additional cryptocurrencies over the past thirty days, bringing its total holdings to 6,281.18 Bitcoins, worth $699 million.
