Good Bye P2P 👋🏻

The 2018 State Bank ban (BPRD Circular No. 03/2018) prevented banks from dealing with crypto at all.

Now, since the PVARA Board is considering withdrawing that ban, it means banks could be legally allowed to interact with virtual assets under a regulated framework.

If the ban is withdrawn and PVARA licensing/regulations are finalized, then:

✅ Exchanges registered with PVARA could connect directly with banks.

✅ Users may be able to deposit and withdraw money directly through their bank accounts, instead of relying only on P2P transfers.

✅ Transactions would move into a formal channel, with AML/CFT checks, taxation, and regulatory oversight.

⚠️ But it won’t happen overnight — PVARA still has to finalize the licensing framework and compliance rules. So at first, P2P may continue until exchanges get formal bank integrations approved.

👉 In short: Yes, once the ban is officially lifted and exchanges are licensed, you’ll likely be able to directly send/receive money through banks instead of only P2P.
