KindlyMD aims to sell $5 billion worth of shares to increase its Bitcoin reserves.
The ATM program provides flexibility and speed in raising capital.
Corporate interest in cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin continues to grow.
KindlyMD, a healthcare company listed on Nasdaq, announced its intention to register with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to sell shares worth up to $5 billion. The company aims to allocate part of the funds generated from this offering to expand its Bitcoin reserves, currently valued at $110,778, along with other general activities of the company. The shares will be available for sale at market prices through TD Securities, Cantor Fitzgerald, and B. Riley Securities.
A flexible and long-term strategy for selling shares
The at-the-market (ATM) stock sale program launched by KindlyMD provides the company with flexibility in raising capital at different times over a specified period without the need for separate approvals for each issuance. This system allows the company to raise funds from the market at its discretion regarding timing and amount, whether through Nasdaq or at appropriate prices. This method offers speed and flexibility, enabling the company to execute its strategic plans more effectively.
KindlyMD plans to prioritize expanding its Bitcoin reserves using the funds raised from this project. The company recently merged with Nakamoto Holdings, thereby activating a cryptocurrency strategy, resulting in an initial acquisition of 5,744 Bitcoins.
A growing trend for corporate Bitcoin reserves
KindlyMD's plan aligns with the growing interest in adding cryptocurrencies to corporate balance sheets, a trend particularly supported by Michael Saylor's subsidiary 'Strategy'. This trend has expanded as many companies integrate Bitcoin and Ethereum ($4,591) along with other cryptocurrencies into their reserves. Currently, some companies are diversifying their investment portfolios by including various cryptocurrencies like Solana ($203), BNB, and XRP.
In the recent market activity, KindlyMD (NAKA) shares ended Tuesday's trading down 12%, closing at $8.07, according to Google Finance data. At the same time, the price of Bitcoin rose by 0.94% in the past twenty-four hours, trading at $111,263.
