In the past few months, everyone has been talking about "AI + Data," but there are not many projects that can really integrate these two
directions and implement them on the chain. I first accidentally saw
a few big shots quietly discussing the @irys_xyz project. At first, I thought
it was just another ordinary storage chain, but the deeper I dug, the more it felt like discovering
a treasure.
It's not just another storage disk, nor is it a gimmick-style "AI concept," but
a Layer1 that truly reconstructs the data circulation logic from the underlying protocol. It's a
programmable datachain.
Simply put, it allows on-chain data to not only be permanently stored but also directly
drive smart contract execution, and can even bind royalties and authorized model calls. For
scenarios like AI, DePIN, and SocialFi that require "data availability + verifiability,"
this is a necessity.
Let's talk about the recent hot events first. Last week, Irys held an offline
event in Seoul. The venue was packed, and many people posted photos on Twitter after receiving the merchandise.
@irys_xyz officials also specially asked everyone to tag them to share. This is not just a
simple gathering. It shows that Irys's layout in the Asian community is becoming more and more
deep, especially in South Korea, where Korean users have already reached the Top3 on the leaderboard.
What about the Chinese region? Currently, only about 60 people are active on the Kaito Yapper
Leaderboard. This is a great opportunity! Think about it, there are over 700 people in the English-speaking region,
127 people in the Korean-speaking region. If we in the Chinese region can reach
300+, wouldn't the regional airdrop be even more surprising? (Who knows, but
the official animation always hints at benefits before the mainnet. Let's brainstorm, maybe
there will be exclusive rewards.)
Let's talk about the technical updates, which is Irys's real strength. Recently,
they collaborated with GAIB to tokenize enterprise-level computing power, with each transaction being
recorded on Irys's high-performance data chain. Permanent, verifiable, lightning-fast,
and programmable. This reminds me that traditional storage like Filecoin or
Arweave is just a dead warehouse. The data becomes outdated over time. But
Irys is different. It allows data to directly execute contracts, track sources, and even
automatically distribute royalties. For AI developers, this is simply a boon: the data source is trustworthy when training models,
and creators can automatically receive royalties. Imagine your
artwork being used by AI. Irys can prove that you are the original creator and automatically transfer
money to you. Compared to Walrus's dual-currency model on Sui, with an FDV of 2 billion,
the architecture is still relatively messy. Irys's technology is more stable, and the valuation is much lower.
Institutions are already using it. Brickroad's report predicts that Irys can attract
127 million in institutional orders. This is not bragging. SCAI has migrated 100TB of academic
data, the largest scientific migration in crypto history!
Warden brought 5 million real users, and Plena contributed 1.5 million. These
are all solid adoption cases.
The data milestones are also impressive: 600 million transactions, 5 million active addresses,
80+ ecological projects, 150TB of institutional data. The team background is even more impressive. The original
team made Bundlr and pulled Arweave's daily transaction volume from 10,000 to
15 million, accounting for 98% of the network traffic. The seed round of 8.9 million was
led by Framework Ventures. Now, the Series A target valuation is 9 digits.
Institutions like Lemniscap are already watching. After the OKX collaboration, the wallet user
traffic exceeded one million. This flywheel effect is starting to turn: more data → more
value → more adoption → Token demand surges. We are still in the early stages.
The mainstream crowd hasn't woken up yet, but the data sector is red hot. Irys covers AI,
IP, SocialFi, DePIN, consumer data, all-round infrastructure,
like AWS in the crypto world.
To be honest, I initially had a "try my luck" mentality, but the more I researched,
the more I felt that this might be the real hidden boss of this round of data narratives.
Institutions are already deploying, the ecosystem is already running, the valuation is still in
the early stages compared to similar projects, and the possibility of airdrop rules being linked to the leaderboard is extremely high.
What we often miss are these opportunities with substantial implementation + low cost of early participation.
low opportunities
This time, I don't plan to just watch the show anymore.
