A "whale" (large investor) of $BTC has made headlines by achieving an extraordinary gain of 30,000,000% after selling 80,000 BTC. These Bitcoins were acquired in 2011 at a price of approximately $0.393 per unit. The transaction, facilitated by Galaxy Digital, is valued at around $9.3 billion, making it one of the largest individual sales in cryptocurrency history.
Surprisingly, despite the magnitude of the sale, the price of Bitcoin did not experience a significant drop, which experts attribute to the current maturity of the market. Bitcoin has seen an almost uninterrupted rise over the past three months, marking new all-time highs. This growth has been driven by investor optimism, increased institutional flows, a favorable regulatory environment, and the limited supply of BTC.
However, analysts suggest that Bitcoin could be on the brink of a bearish correction, with possible declines towards $112,000 or even $105,000. This is because the price failed to maintain above a key level and shows signs of exhaustion. Despite this potential correction, Bitcoin's long-term fundamentals, such as its scarcity and constant demand from ETFs, remain strong, suggesting that any price adjustment could be beneficial for the market before resuming its upward trend.
