Several NFT collections backed by Matt Furie, the creator of Pepe, suffered a massive hack after he accidentally hired a North Korean employee for an IT position. The same group attacked another company, Favrr, resulting in total losses of one million dollars.
Furie collaborated with Chainsaw, a non-fungible token (NFT) company, which seemingly hired one of its hackers for an IT position. Favrr hired one of the hackers as its Chief Technology Officer, demonstrating a concerning negligence regarding the project's security.

Baby, the famous cartoon frog, is a popular subject for meme coin projects, but its original creator has nothing to do with them. The visual artist Matt Furie created this character about 20 years ago. In partnership with Chainsaw to launch NFT collections, Furie tried to capitalize on this growing industry, but it seems a hack from North Korea led to the project's halt.
This alarming lack of security is the real issue. ZachXBT recently warned of the increasing activity from North Korea, especially after the Lazarus group executed the largest hack in cryptocurrency history.
Cryptocurrency crimes are significantly increasing right now, yet these companies have taken no notable precautions. The most condemnable thing is that Favrr is the only company that issued a public statement.
Chainsaw issued a brief warning, then deleted it later, and Matt Furie also remained silent. Both disabled their direct messages on X. ZachXBT tried to reach out to all parties involved but was unable to do so.
