How to trade Bitcoin contracts on Binance

Now I will introduce how to trade Bitcoin contracts on Binance and share some very useful features.

First, visit the Binance official website and log in to your account. After logging in, click 'Futures' in the top menu. Then select the first option displayed, and the system will redirect you to the Binance contract trading interface.

After entering the contract trading page, you will see a large price chart, with an order book next to it, and the trading operation panel on the far right.

I will introduce some frequently used features in the trading panel that are worth mastering to help you improve trading efficiency.

Cross Margin vs Isolated Margin

In the upper left corner of the trading panel, you will see an option named 'Cross'. After clicking it, you can choose between 'Cross Margin' and 'Isolated Margin'.

This setting determines how you use margin (investment funds) when trading.

If you choose 'Cross Margin', even if you only set a 15% investment ratio, the entire account balance may be used to maintain that position.

This means that if the market moves unfavorably, you may lose all your funds.

If you choose 'Isolated Margin' and set it to 15%, then only this 15% of funds are at risk. Even if the position is forcibly liquidated, the remaining 85% of funds will still be preserved, so the risk is relatively low.

This feature is particularly helpful for traders who are not good at setting stop-loss orders.

Although the 'Cross Margin' model can provide higher profit potential, the risks are also greater.

The 'Isolated Margin' is safer, but it may limit your profit potential.

Flexibly using the two modes according to market conditions will help you trade more efficiently.

Adjust Leverage

Next, let's look at the 'Leverage' feature.

Click the number next to your position to adjust the leverage multiple.

Leverage allows you to amplify profits with a smaller amount of funds.

Binance supports leverage settings from 1x to 125x, but using excessively high leverage is extremely dangerous—losses can quickly escalate, making it difficult for you to hold positions in the long term.

For most traders, we recommend using leverage not exceeding 20x to achieve a more stable and effective trading strategy.

In this guide, we introduced how to trade Bitcoin contracts on Binance and focused on two important features you must understand:

Margin Mode (Cross / Isolated) and Leverage Adjustment.

The key to contract trading is: stability and security.
