In response to the recent Wall Street Journal report on Bitcoin code managers, CoinShare issued an article to refute this view: Bitcoin Core is a collaborative effort involving a diverse group of developers and contributors from around the world, not just a small group of project maintainers. Although there is a group of project "maintainers" with commit permissions, it is a misunderstanding to think that only they can change the code.
