Binance Charity has partnered with Utiva to provide scholarships across Africa.
1,000 students aged 18 to 35 can develop the experience, skills and networks needed to succeed in the blockchain industry.
This initiative is also possible thanks to the support of Binance Academy, which will provide a full year of free education to scholarship recipients.

Binance Charity and Utiva have offered technology scholarships to 1,000 African students and provided access to year-long educational programs provided by Binance Academy.

We are pleased to announce that Binance Charity is continuing our good work with Utiva to help make significant changes in African communities. As part of our efforts to educate 50,000 young African adults and address unemployment on the continent, we are honored to support 1,000 students in 19 African countries through our technology scholarships.
The scholarships are intended to help students break into the technology industry or advance a blockchain career with essential skills in blockchain and Web3. Provided by our educational arm, Binance Academy, this course is free and will last for one year.
“Today, we celebrate 1,000 students selected for full scholarships as part of our Binance Charity Scholar Program. This is our most ambitious educational outreach to date in the region and the overwhelmingly positive response further solidifies Africa as a major hub for new tech talent. We are very excited to see these young people as they embark on a new career journey,” said Helen Hai, Binance WP and Head of Binance Charity.
Following are the impressions of some of the Binance Charity Tech Scholarship winners:
“The blockchain industry has always been interesting to me mainly because of the data security aspect. With the recent adoption of blockchain technology by various industries, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to learn.” – Renee Ovwigho, Binance Charity Tech Scholarship Recipient from Nigeria
Nigerian Scholarship recipient Renee submitted this scholarship application with the hope of pursuing a career in data analysis and believes that Binance will also be able to offer the opportunity to get closer to the technology community across Africa.
Another scholarship recipient, Miracle C. Amakom from Cameroon, is also interested in pursuing a career in the same field. “I am an engineering student looking to receive the best training academically and professionally. I applied for the Binance Charity Tech Scholarship as soon as I heard about it, and I'm so excited to get this scholarship! This marked the beginning of my dream of becoming a full-stack developer. "I can't wait for lessons to start," said Miracle.
Other students already in the blockchain field are also taking the opportunity to improve their skills, such as Nicholas Katungi from Uganda. “I am currently in the blockchain industry working in a company that handles cross-border payments and digital asset exchanges with the help of blockchain technology. Since there is a lot of wisdom to be gained in the blockchain technology vertical, I applied for this scholarship to enhance my data skills and hopefully my career in the blockchain technology space soon,” he said.
