$ETH Is the “air” dying?
Recently, it has become fashionable to say: “Solana is faster,” “ETH is no longer needed.”
But let's look at the facts.
1. Yes, Solana is indeed fast and almost free. But:
• Stablecoins (USDT, USDC)? They operate on ETH.
• Top DeFi protocols? Uniswap, Aave, Curve — all of this is ETH.
• Layer 2 (Arbitrum, Optimism, Base)? They are built on it.
It's like comparing Telegram and the internet. One is more convenient, but the other is the foundation of everything.
2. After the transition to Proof-of-Stake, ETH is burned with every transaction.
This means the total amount of ether decreases. And when something is less available, it becomes more expensive.
3. All Layer 2 are built on ETH. Arbitrum, Optimism, zkSync, Base — they are not competitors to ether; they are its continuation. Therefore, even if you are using something “cheaper and faster” — you are still using ether. Just not directly.
Who holds ether?
At what levels did you enter and what do you think about its future? Of course, I wouldn't say no to ETH at $800, but I am already buying more even now — such levels around $1600 were last seen in early 2023. Back then, ether was priced at $1600–1700 and in March 2024, ETH reached around $4,000$ETH
