#AiXBTSecurityBreach #AiXBTSecurityBreach A hacker has breached the control panel of an AI-powered cryptocurrency bot and made two requests to transfer 55.5 Ether, valued at $106,200, from its wallet, raising concerns about the security of crypto AI agents.
The maintainer of the bot called "aixbt," which comments on the market, stated that its core systems were not affected, and that the breach was not the result of manipulating the AI.
The aixbt token on Ethereum Base Layer 2 has dropped 15.5% to 9 cents since the hack, which occurred on March 18 at 1:58 AM UTC.
Observers initially thought someone had manipulated the bot after the AI agents platform Simulacrum AI posted on X that it sent a tip of 55.5 Ether to the hacker, the X user "0xhungusman," whose account has since been suspended.
AI-powered bots that comment and operate in the crypto market, such as aixbt, ai16z, and Truth Terminal, continue to be experimented with in crypto as traders seek to leverage AI in their trading strategies
