According to the Daily Planet, WisdomTree announced plans to close and liquidate three WisdomTree ETFs, including WisdomTree International ESG Fund (RESD), WisdomTree Emerging Markets ESG Fund (RESE) and WisdomTree U.S. ESG Fund (RESP). ETF shares not sold before January 26, 2024 will be automatically redeemed based on the net asset value (NAV) of the corresponding ETF, and it is expected that NAV will be provided to shareholders through brokers or other financial intermediaries around February 5, 2024. WisdomTree currently manages approximately US$97.7 billion in global assets.
It is worth mentioning that WisdomTree has joined the list of applicants for the launch of a spot Bitcoin ETF and submitted a revised ETF prospectus (S-1 filing) in November. Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart said this means that WisdomTree is still planning this ETF and is in consultation with the Corporate Finance Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
