According to CoinCu, OneCoin co-founder Karl Sebastian Greenwood has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in a $4 billion cryptocurrency fraud scheme. OneCoin was promoted as a revolutionary cryptocurrency, 3.5 million investors worldwide were deceived, and Greenwood made more than $300 million from it. Another co-founder, Ruja Ignatova (known as the "Crypto Queen"), remains on the FBI's wanted list, and victims are still seeking justice. OneCoin has been operating since 2014 and is based in Sofia, Bulgaria. It was promoted as a cryptocurrency investment opportunity and defrauded more than $4 billion from approximately 3.5 million unsuspecting victims worldwide. However, OneCoin was actually worthless, investors lost a lot of money, and Greenwood made more than $300 million from it. Although Greenwood has been sentenced, victims continue to pursue justice and Ignatova's whereabouts remain a mystery.
