The Open Network (TON), a blockchain platform linked to the Telegram messaging app, has announced plans to expand into the U.S. market in light of expected changes to cryptocurrency regulation under the administration of President-elect Donald Trump. #DonaldTrump
As part of this strategy, the TON Foundation has appointed Manuel Stotz, founder of investment firm Kingsway Capital Partners Ltd., as its new president. Stotz has significant experience in investing in emerging markets and blockchain technologies. The previous president, Steve Yun, will remain on the foundation’s board of directors.
Previously, TON faced difficulties in the USA: in 2019, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) blocked the launch of Gram tokens, leading to the cessation of the Telegram Open Network project. However, with the expected changes in US policy regarding digital assets under the new administration, the TON Foundation is counting on more favorable conditions for development.
Against this backdrop, the native token of the ecosystem Toncoin (TON) has demonstrated growth, reaching a price of around $5.34.
The inauguration of Donald Trump is scheduled for January 20, 2025, and the cryptocurrency community is keenly awaiting possible changes in industry regulation in the USA.
