Odaily Planet Daily News Recently, American digital artist Josh M. Chavez said on Twitter that scammers stole all tokens and NFTs from his on-chain crypto wallet MetaMask. The artist revealed that a potential client contacted him through direct messages on Instagram. Although the "client" account was followed by a large number of robots, Chavez decided to ignore this fact. The client ordered a cover for their upcoming song. Chavez asked them to send detailed information, including release information, budget, concept, reference materials, etc. All these details were sent to Chavez via email. The scammer sent the files under the name "Oscar Davies", one of which was marked as .pdf, but actually had an extension of .exe. Such files are designed to execute computer programs when opened, and once the file is opened, it is immediately bound to the Chrome browser, where the MetaMask wallet is also integrated. In a blink of an eye, it siphoned tokens from MetaMask and sold all NFTs at a low price in an auction. Chavez reminds users to beware of such scams. (U.Today)
