After gambling for many years, I summarize some common mistakes I often make.
1. Guessing the bottom and touching the peak. This is the most frequent mistake. Often during a big drop, thinking the price has fallen enough, one tries to catch the bottom for a rebound, but ends up getting buried. Or when the price has risen a lot, feeling like it's about time, one wants to short it, but always ends up shorting at the bottom of the mountain. Especially in a bear market with fluctuating conditions, this mistake is particularly easy to make. In a fluctuating market, going low when the price is low and high when the price is high, after the market cultivates this habit, suddenly a market movement breaks out of this fluctuation range, leading to a big rise or fall, washing you clean of both principal and profit!
Guessing the bottom and top. My conclusion is that it is best to overcome this habit, write it down on paper, and constantly remind yourself not to engage in this market, to give up on this market. When there is a significant rise or fall, go with the trend, do not chase in, wait for the right opportunity, and wait until after a pullback to go long. Generally, during a violent rise or fall, there will be a sharp spike, or even several spikes, before the market ends. If you really want to guess the bottom and top, you must be patient, wait for the spike, and after the rise or fall exceeds your imagination, then look for opportunities to short with a light position. Only then can you withstand it!
