Hosted by Delphinus Lab and co-organized by BeWater and SevenX Ventures, the MEME.ZKWASM() hackathon lasted for a month and recently came to a successful conclusion. As the first developer of the open-source zkWASM virtual machine, Delphinus Lab received support from well-known investment institutions such as Binance Labs and OKX Ventures, dedicated to achieving exclusive rollup services at the application layer through zkWASM, promoting the growth of the Web3 decentralized application ecosystem and seamlessly bringing browser applications into the Web3 era.

The zkWASM technology verifies smart contracts by running WASM code and generating execution traces using zkSNARK proofs, allowing applications to be easily deployed on any decentralized platform. Serving as a universal compilation target supporting various programming languages like C, C++, Java, Rust, Go, Ruby, Swift, and TypeScript, zkWASM is bringing more traditional developer power to the blockchain world.

This hackathon attracted 57 teams, with 28 in the MEME track and 29 in the game track, showcasing the enthusiasm of Asian developers and creators for zkWASM technology. After a month of intense competition, a total of 10 outstanding projects emerged from the two tracks, sharing a prize pool of $100,000.

In addition to the technical and ecosystem partners mentioned above, the hackathon also received support from media and community partners such as TechFlow, MetaEra, DeBox, Moledao, OpenBuild, HackQuest, PlanckerDAO, LXDAO, Rebase Community, SeeGrowth, WhaleDAO, Peking University Blockchain Association, Lingnan University Blockchain Association, Shenzhen University Blockchain Association, Zhejiang University Blockchain Association, 0xU, etc., helping to expand the influence of zkWASM technology and promote more developers to participate in the wave of innovation.

[Game Track]

The first prize ($15,000 USDT) was awarded to the zkRPS project. This project achieved real-time gesture recognition through computer vision technology and mediapipe, innovatively transforming the traditional rock-paper-scissors game. The project also uses zkWASM to execute game logic, ensuring the safety and fairness of the game process.

The second prize (each project receives $10,000 USDT) was awarded to two distinctive projects:

Veilcraft: The first Roguelike card game that integrates AI generation mechanisms. Players can unlock diverse hero characters and collect powerful cards to compete in various modes including dynamic stories, challenges, and PvP.

Dolphin Sparta: A dreamy underwater world game where players can train elite dolphin warriors and create their own underwater army. The game features two unique soldier types: spear dolphins and swordplay dolphins, working together to fight the ultimate BOSS, the evil whale.

The third prize (each project receives $5,000 USDT) also awarded two winning projects:

EcoDolphin: Innovatively incorporating environmental protection concepts into gameplay. Players control brave dolphins to collect ocean waste to earn $DOL tokens while avoiding shark attacks. The project ensures fairness in the game through zkWASM, achieving a perfect combination of entertainment and environmental protection.

CoinPUPS: A meme-based Telegram click game that launched on the Mantle and TON blockchains in July 2024. This project was developed in collaboration with BlockBooster and supported by Animoca Brands and Mantle, striving to set new records in the click game sector of the crypto ecosystem.

[MEME Track]

The first prize ($15,000 USDT) was awarded to the Bullish project. This project created an innovative full-chain advertising platform that achieves multiple rewards from a single transaction. Currently, the platform provides verified high-quality traffic services on over 15 blockchain networks, redefining the future of on-chain advertising marketing.

The second prize (each project receives $10,000 USDT) was awarded to two highly creative projects:

Dokuan: This is a creative MEME project stemming from the Terra incident, using humor and satire to help the community heal from trauma while also delivering a warning to the industry: in the crypto world, fraudulent activities face legal repercussions and will be remembered as part of MEME culture. The project aims to promote a healthier accountability culture in the industry through creative expression.

DeadChu: An innovative NFT community project that cleverly merges the characteristics of Pokemon (Pikachu) and Deadpool to create a unique character IP.

The third prize (each project receives $5,000 USDT) was awarded to:

Burger: A community-driven project that originated from Trump's historic moment of using cryptocurrency to buy burgers. Under a complete community autonomy mechanism, it gathers top talents in the crypto field, aiming to become a leading IP in the food-themed meme sector.

Eddy: A creative token project inspired by the animated series (Family Guy), equipped with custom AI. Eddy is not just a token, but also a character with personality, planning to expand across multiple blockchain ecosystems.

During this month, we witnessed every exciting moment of developers and creators from conception to breakthrough. Every line of code and every innovative attempt is pushing the Web3 ecosystem forward. This is not only a successful conclusion to a hackathon but also a new starting point for the development of zkWASM technology. We look forward to continuing to explore the infinite possibilities of blockchain technology with all ecosystem partners in the future.
