Cardano development team Input Output has announced the launch of a toolkit for developing custom sidechains on Cardano.
The official used the toolkit to build an EVM-compatible sidechain public testnet as a proof of concept. The sidechain makes Cardano scalable and more scalable without affecting the stability or security of the main chain. The EVM sidechain application is still under review and it will be available as a public testnet in late January.
It is reported that the toolkit allows side chains to have their own consensus algorithms and functions. The side chain is connected to the main chain through a bridge that allows inter-chain asset transfers, and the finality of the block is determined by a consensus mechanism that relies on the security of the main chain. Blockchain developers, DApp developers, stake pool operators (SPOs), and DApp users can all benefit from custom side chains. For DApp developers, custom side chains have advantages in interoperability, scalability, testability, and compatibility. (Planet Daily)
