With the continuous expansion of market size and the gradual maturation of operational models, MEME is gradually moving towards scaled and institutional operations. Among them, the participation of some crypto market makers is also increasing, which will continue to drive the enhancement of liquidity and stability in the MEME market.

This article outlines the MEME coin holdings of five crypto market makers, including Wintermute, GSR Markets, Auros Global, B2C2 Group, and Cumberland DRW. These institutions collectively hold over $120 million worth of MEME coins, with Wintermute having the largest holdings and covering the most popular projects, and several of its held MEME coins successfully launched on Binance, indicating its deep layout and influence in the MEME coin field. In contrast, the other institutions have smaller holdings, mainly consisting of traditional MEME coins like PEPE and SHIB, and have made large transfers or sales on multiple platforms.

It is worth noting that DWF Labs, which previously made a high-profile layout in MEME, no longer holds any MEME projects in its public address, possibly related to increased U.S. regulatory scrutiny on MEME market makers. In early October this year, several market makers including Gotbit, ZM Quant, and CLS Global were accused by multiple U.S. regulatory agencies for operating in the MEME market, with the operator of MyTrade pleading guilty and the CEO of Gotbit being prosecuted by the U.S. Department of Justice for allegedly orchestrating large-scale fraudulent trades.

Wintermute: Holdings exceed $110 million, 68% of MEME coins successfully launched on Binance

Arkham data shows that as of November 8, Wintermute holds 19 MEME coins worth over $1 million each, with a total holding value exceeding $110 million. The top three projects by holding amount are MOODENG, GOAT, and PEPE, which together account for 40.9% of Wintermute's total MEME holdings. Moreover, these MEME coins mostly come from Ethereum and Solana, and most are popular projects.

It is worth mentioning that among the 19 MEME coins held by Wintermute, 13 projects have successfully launched on Binance, accounting for as much as 68.4%, suggesting that this institution has seemingly become a bellwether for MEME coins launching on Binance.

GSR Markets: Still holds over $5 million in NEIRO, with multiple large transfers possibly aimed at providing liquidity

Arkham data shows that as of November 8, GSR Markets holds over 48.51 million NEIRO (uppercase), accounting for 4.8% of the total supply of that token, worth over $5.08 million in NEIRO. Since October, GSR Markets has transferred more than $99.13 million worth of NEIRO to the exchange Bybit in multiple transactions, but Spot On Chain monitoring suggests this operation may be aimed at providing more liquidity rather than selling.

Auros Global: Holdings worth approximately $330,000, frequently transferring NEIRO in the past month

Arkham data shows that as of November 8, Auros Global mainly holds PEPE, NEIRO (both uppercase and lowercase), and SHIB, with a holding value of $330,000, of which PEPE alone is worth $197,000. Notably, starting from September 30, Auros Global has been frequently transferring lowercase NEIRO to exchanges like Binance and Uniswap, with each transfer being below $70,000.

B2C2 Group: Only holds nearly $7 million worth of SHIB

Currently, B2C2 Group only holds a large amount of SHIB. Arkham data shows that as of November 8, B2C2 Group holds $6.89 million worth of SHIB. Since this year, B2C2 Group has continuously transferred large amounts of SHIB to platforms like Coinbase and Robinhood, with individual transactions often amounting to several million dollars.

Cumberland DRW: Holdings of nearly $230,000 in PEPE and SHIB, has sold millions of dollars in recent months

Cumberland DRW also chooses to hold traditional MEME coins, and the allocation is relatively small. Arkham data shows that as of November 8, Cumberland DRW holds approximately $210,000 worth of PEPE and $18,000 worth of SHIB. In recent months, Cumberland DRW has transferred millions of dollars worth of PEPE and SHIB to platforms such as OKX, Robinhood, and FalconX.
