According to people familiar with the matter, the hedge fund and electronic trading business of Citadel, a world-renowned market maker, still achieved record revenue in 2022. Among them, the hedge fund business had revenue of approximately US$28 billion, while Citadel Securities, one of the world's largest electronic trading companies, had revenue of US$7.5 billion. The record revenue of the hedge fund department came from the outstanding performance of Citadel Fund in one year.
Its flagship Wellington fund rose 38.1% last year, while its fixed income fund rose 32.58%, according to sources. Earlier, in December, people familiar with the matter said the hedge fund was expected to return about $7 billion in profits to investors in the first week of January. (Reuters)
