Odds on Donald Trump winning the US presidential election have risen to their highest level in more than two months on leading predictions marketplace Polymarket.
Traders on Thursday placed 55.8% bets on the former president to 43.8% on Vice President Kamala Harris, according to Polymarket, where more than $1.6 billion has been wagered on the November election.
Trump's chances have risen to their highest level since days ago when President Joe Biden announced he would not seek re-election, clearing the way for his vice president to take over.
Another prediction market, Kalshi, which recently won the right to list contracts based on the US election, also shows Trump leading Harris: 52% to 48%.
Polymarket is technically not available to US residents, although VPN users can bypass that restriction. However, Kalshi and PredictIt are available in the US.
