The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Manhattan said on Tuesday that it has formed an FTX Task Force to recover FTX victim assets and handle investigations and prosecutions related to the company and other entities. The task force will be composed of prosecutors from the Securities and Commodities Fraud, Public Corruption, Money Laundering and Transnational Criminal Enterprises Divisions. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) estimates that the fraud by FTX and Alameda Research caused customers to lose more than $8 billion.

As previously reported, former FTX CEO SBF pleaded not guilty to eight charges related to the collapse of FTX in a federal court in New York. The U.S. District Court set the trial date for October 2, 2023. (CNBC)
