Grayscale confirms victory! Bitcoin price rises above $33,000

A Washington court recently brought an end to the lawsuit between Grayscale and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The final ruling confirmed the outcome of the preliminary ruling two months ago, that is, the SEC refused to transfer Grayscale’s approximately $17 billion Grayscale Bitcoin. Coin Trust’s decision to convert GBTC to a spot ETF was “arbitrary and capricious” and the SEC must reconsider whether to approve Grayscale’s application.

As Bitcoin prices topped $31,000 on the news, cryptocurrency derivatives traders experienced more than $150 million in liquidations, the vast majority of which were short, the second largest single-day short liquidation since late August. .

Bitcoin was trading at 33,133 at press time, up 10.6% in the past 24 hours and 16.0% in the past seven days.

The recent price of Chainlink’s native token LINK hit a 17-month high, but according to foreign media reports, on-chain data shows that some investors may be taking profits. CryptoQuant data shows that the net inflow of LINK coins into centralized exchanges reached nearly 1.4 million, with capital inflows for four consecutive days.

Blockchain analysis company Arkham Intelligence posted on the social media platform Binance subsequently withdrew $3 million in USDT stablecoins. The wallet address later transferred 380,000 LINK coins (worth approximately $3.9 million) to Binance and currently holds $3.1 million worth of LINK coins.

Bitcoin Lightning Network security vulnerability exposed, developer Antoine Riard decided to quit

The Lightning Network, the Bitcoin Layer 2 expansion technology, recently discovered a potential security vulnerability. After discovering it, developer Antoine Riard announced the relevant details. A vulnerability called "replacement cycling attacks" may compromise the security of funds flowing through the Lightning Network, causing delays or preventing transactions from being processed as expected, which may lead to the risk of loss of funds within the Bitcoin Lightning Network channel.

Antoine Riard believes that although the situation is worrying, no actual attacks related to this vulnerability have been discovered in the past 10 months. Therefore, currently major Lightning Network project protocols such as Eclair, LND and C-Lightning have deployed relevant patches to mitigate the possibility of attacks.

Finally, Antoine Riard stated that he would withdraw from the ranks of Lightning Network developers. The reason was not specified.
