Wu said that according to Protos, Russia sentenced a former chief investigator, Marat Tambiyev, to 16 years in prison after he was arrested for accepting 1,032 Bitcoin bribes worth $65 million from a group of hackers. Marat Tambiyev was accused of accepting Bitcoin bribes from two people in the Infraud organization hacker gang he was investigating last year while working for the Russian Investigative Committee. As part of the deal, Tambiyev agreed not to confiscate the gang's illegally obtained Bitcoin. He subsequently received half of the illegal assets on April 7, 2022.
