Turkey plans to apply blockchain technology to online public service logins. The Turkish digital government portal e-Devlet, used to access various public services, will use blockchain-based digital identities to verify Turkish citizens’ identities when logging in.
Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay announced during the Digital Türkiye 2023 event that citizens will be able to access e-wallet applications using blockchain-based digital identities. Oktay called his blockchain application a revolution in e-government work and said that online services using blockchain will be more secure and convenient. Users will be able to save their digital information on their phones. "Through a login system that operates within the scope of the e-wallet application, our citizens will be able to enter the e-Devlet using a digital identity created in the blockchain network."
