A Coinbase spokesperson said on Friday that given its commitment to compliance, Coinbase will remove services related to stablecoins that do not comply with MiCA requirements from EEA users by December 30, 2024. Coinbase will provide an update on its plans next month, including users converting their stablecoins to versions that comply with EU requirements (such as USDC). Tether has not yet obtained permission to issue $120 billion in USDT in Europe. A Tether spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment. (Bloomberg)
