Odaily Planet Daily News Rapper and producer Sean "Diddy" Combs will hire the same lawyer as former FTX CEO SBF to defend him after being charged with extortion and sex trafficking in New York. In a notice of appeal filed on Monday, Alexandra Shapiro, a partner at Shapiro Arato Bach, was named as Combs' defendant attorney. Shapiro has also been his attorney since SBF was found guilty by a jury for defrauding investors last year. Prosecutors said at the time that SBF planned "perhaps the biggest fraud case in the past decade" and compared it to Ponzi scheme mastermind Bernie Madoff. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison. Last month, Shapiro filed an appeal for SBF, asking for a new trial. Shapiro criticized New York District Judge Lewis Kaplan's handling of the case and said SBF should not be prevented from providing certain evidence. (The Block) According to three people familiar with the matter, musician Sean "Diddy" Combs, who was arrested on suspicion of extortion, was detained in the same cell block as SBF at a federal detention center in Brooklyn. Sources revealed that the prisoners in this area are separated, but they share some living space.
