Hackers hacked Platypus Finance

Platypus Finance, a DeFi project based on the Avalanche network, suffered a hacker attack that resulted in the theft of over $2 million in digital assets.

Hackers took advantage of a vulnerability that allowed them to withdraw AVAX tokens. The value of the project's own token, PTP, dropped significantly after the hack - by 35.8%. This is not the first time Platypus Finance has been attacked: previously, in February 2023, they were attacked, as a result of which about $9 million was stolen. The attack also led to the fact that the price of the stablecoin Platypus USD lost its peg to the US dollar and fell by more than 50%. Users expressed concern about the lack of auditing and security measures in the project's protocol, suggesting that this may have contributed to the security breach.
