According to Techub News, Cointelegraph reported that the North Carolina State Assembly disclosed that on September 9, the Republican-led Senate approved House Bill No. 690 with 27 votes in favor and 17 votes against, reaching the 60% majority required to pass the bill.
The bill prohibits North Carolina from accepting CBDC (central bank digital currency) as a payment method and prohibits it from participating in future CBDC tests conducted by "any Federal Reserve-related institutions."
