Analysts at cryptocurrency financial services company Matrixport recently shared their views on the comparative value between BTC and ETH. Below is a summary of their findings.
BTC and ETH: Which is Better?
The two largest crypto assets currently, namely BTC and ETH, will experience quite significant changes and developments throughout 2023.
Recently, Bitcoin broke out of the US$26,000 to US$27,000 range. Matrixport analysts said they would remain optimistic as long as prices remained above US$27,000.
However, the lack of significant progress caused trading volume to fall to US$11 billion and Bitcoin price to fall by -4 percent.
Nonetheless, Bitcoin is expected to still attract the most attention going forward, even with the launch of spot-based ETH products in the US, according to analysts.
On Monday (2/10/2023), three ETFs based on Ethereum futures contract prices were launched. However, this ETF experienced very low trading volume in the first few days.
According to analysts, the main disappointing feature of the Ethereum network is the lack of user activity and lack of interest in NFT minting transactions.
The monthly fees collected by the ETH network in September 2023 were only US$92 million, the lowest since December 2022.
The next difference between BTC and ETH can be seen from their use and function as an asset hedge.
According to analysts, Bitcoin can be seen as a macro hedging tool as its supply is limited to 21 million units.
Meanwhile, according to Matrixport analysts, Ethereum can no longer be considered “Ultrasonic Money” because it has again changed from a deflationary asset to an inflationary asset.
“Ultrasonic Money” is known as a phrase used by major ETH supporters to describe ETH's superiority.
As a result, Matrixport analysts argue that there are good reasons to be optimistic about Bitcoin, quoted from En.Bitcoinsistemi.
However, despite the potential for price increases for altcoins if buyers return, it remains difficult to identify fundamental catalysts that support ETH or other altcoins.
Through this information, BTC and ETH experienced significant developments. However, for the time being Bitcoin has performed better. However, this may change at any time due to the fluctuating crypto market.
