According to Foresight News, the Public Security Bureau of Shen County, Liaocheng City, Shandong Province cracked the "12.04" virtual currency pyramid scheme case, arrested the pyramid scheme leader and 6 core members, and recovered more than 10 million yuan in illegal gains. This is the first virtual currency pyramid scheme case in Liaocheng City.

In December 2022, police officers from the Shen County Public Security Bureau discovered a virtual currency pyramid scheme on the Binance Smart Chain during an online patrol. The project used the "token pocket" wallet with the help of smart contracts to release decentralized (no personnel registration information) cryptocurrencies DCS and CAR, and used high returns as an inducement to encourage participating members to drive up the prices of DCS and CAR, and to attract new members to join, suspected of pyramid schemes. During the investigation of the case, the task force went to the provinces and cities where the suspects were hiding for cross-regional investigations many times, and made detailed arrangements for the closing action, unified arrest, fixing evidence, and safe removal. The police officers of the task force rushed to Qingdao, Tai'an, Weifang, Xi'an, and Fuzhou in five groups. With the assistance of local public security organs, they carried out a centralized closing, arrested six criminal suspects in one fell swoop, and seized one batch of items involved in the case.
