Bitcoin 2024 halving event is just 200 days away. According to historical data, Bitcoin price increased by 1263 percent between the 2016 and 2020 halvings. Between the 2020 halving event and the 2021 ATH, BTCUSD rose 654 percent (orange). If Bitcoin's "fair value" is considered to be $30,643 at the halving in April, that would be a 654 percent increase to $231,048 (yellow).

If Bitcoin's starting point is $40,000 at the April halving event, the 654 percent increase would sequentially reach over $300,000. Of course, these scenarios are speculative and halving cycles do not mimic each other linearly. Valuation levels presented are approximate.

Combined with the spot ETF, the halving cycle is expected to increase the appetite of both retail and institutional investors. To quote Anthony Pompliano's famous words, Bitcoin's return profile is asymmetric because its upside potential significantly outweighs downsides.

While Bitcoin will likely reach six figures after the 2024 halving event, the time window for “retail-priced” Bitcoin is coming to an end. As a unique asset class, Bitcoin has enabled millions of retail investors to overtake institutions, but the opportunity won't last forever.
