Golden Finance reported that this week, Galaxy Research released the second report in the Bitcoin Ordinals series. The initial report in March 2023 introduced the emergence of Ordinals as a new way for Bitcoin digital collectibles. The latest report delves into the progress and changes in the field since then. The report stated that in the first 200 days of the launch of Bitcoin Ordinals, 1.14 million image-based inscriptions were created. This growth rate is faster than the sum of the first 200 days of NFTs on Ethereum, Solana and Polygon. The report does not include the transaction volume of BRC-20 tokens. However, even without the inclusion of BRC-20 tokens, Bitcoin is still the third most popular chain in digital collection activities. By the end of 2023, the transaction volume of Ordinals is expected to reach approximately $725 million. It is worth noting that despite this upward trend, the overall transaction volume of NFTs on all chains has been declining. According to Cryptoslam data, monthly NFT transaction volume has fallen for six consecutive months from February to August 2023. Total sales in September 2023 were $294 million, the lowest level of NFT sales since January 2021.
