Forbes conducted an investigation into the initial coin offering (ICO) for BNB in 2017.

Then the head of Binance, Changpeng Zhao, said that the ICO raised a total of $15 million, and the average price of BNB was $0.15.

Binance filings indicate that the company will issue 200 million BNB: 80 million BNB is reserved for Binance and its executives; 20 million for angel investors and 100 million for ICO.

However, Forbes found that investors in the ICO actually received 10.78 million BNB (10% of the reported amount); Binance raised not $15 million, but $5 million; and angel investors received twice as many coins (40 million BNB).

After checking the wallets, Forbes found that Binance controls 116.9 million BNB worth $27.3 billion, with a market capitalization of $33 billion. #BNB
