Telegram has officially addressed founder Pavel Durov’s detention in France with a statement saying that Telegram abides by EU laws, including the Digital Services Act.

Telegram highlighted, “It is absurd to claim that a platform or its owner is responsible for abuse of that platform.’ Durov, who frequently travels across Europe, has expressed transparency in Telegram’s operations."

French authorities are scheduled to issue a statement on the detention of Durov on Monday, August 26.
